Introduction to Russian: Lesson 18
Use your linguistic skills!
All of these words name actions, they are verbs. They are also given here in their infinitive form. What does it mean? Infinitive form doesn't tell you when this action takes place - now, in the past, or in the future. Have you noticed that these Russian verbs all end with -TЬ?
That's right: the ending -TЬ tells us that the verb is in its infinitive form. What do all their English translations have in common? In English, the verbs in infinitive form have the particle to.
to play
to read
to dream

играть
читать
мечтать
